Welcome to my website Run Away With Kay! My name is Kaylie and I am a 20-something explorer, frequent flyer, coffee addict and collector of all the postcards!

I decided to start this platform after traveling the U.S. extensively for three years. I became somewhat of a knowledgable traveler! My friends started looking to me to tell them where they should go, what they should eat, and what they needed to see when they traveled. I was sending out detailed itineraries via text for “48 hours in Dublin” or “What to do in Little Rock, AR.” So, I figured why not make these suggestions public and attempt to help more people?

Traveling is my biggest passion in life and I’ve been blessed to have visited all 50 states, 27 countries, and 5 territories. But who’s counting? I got bit by the travel bug when I was a junior in college studying abroad in Costa Rica and the rest is history. I was hooked! Upon college graduation, I knew I couldn’t jump into a desk job or move to the middle of nowhere to pursue broadcast journalism, like originally planned. Thankfully, a crazy once-in-a-lifetime marketing career landed in my lap allowing me to travel each week to a different state.

During my three years with the company, I found myself wanting to travel even more and my desire to immerse myself into different cultures grew with each passing day. I would frequently use my PTO to jet over to Europe, re-teach myself Spanish, and drink wine with the locals. It seemed as more time went on, the more I found myself thinking about my next adventure until it ultimately led me to quit my corporate job. I packed up my belongings from my small town in Illinois and drove cross country to my new home in Phoenix, AZ.

Launching my own virtual assistance business in 2020 gave me the flexibility to help fellow female entrepreneurs grow their business during the day while also contributing to my passion project – this travel blog – once a week! By joining me, we’ll discuss all things business, books, travel, and lifestyle. Plus, look back on some of my past trips, dish out all the tips and tricks, and help you\ learn to travel affordably! I’m glad you’re here! Ready to embark on a new journey and run away with me, Kay? Let’s get started!
